The National Scholarship, National motivational Scholarship and other Special Scholarship for the academic year 2018-2019 of the School of Economics and Management of Beijing Jiaotong University was successfully held in Sixi at 12:30 on October 17, 2019. The judges present in this defence are Professor Liu Yingqi of the Department of Business Management of the School of Economics and Management, Mr Gao Guilian, the Chief of the Department of Education, and the teachers of the Youth League Committee of the School of Economics and Management. In line with the principle of fairness, impartiality and openness, more than 100 students submitted scholarship applications in the early stage of the response. After qualification examination and submission of materials, a total of 90 students successfully entered the defence session. This defence is jointly judged by the teachers and the public judges. The teacher judges are composed of class teachers, teachers of Teaching discipline and League committee teachers, and the mass evaluation team is comprised of undergraduates of grade 2016-2019. The respondent elaborated from the aspects of morality, academic research, subject competition, innovation and invention, social practice, social work, sports competition, academic and artistic performance and so on. There is a group of people who are knowledgeable and diligent. They study hard and challenge scientific research competitions. Their excellence shines brightly in obscurity, and their excellence unwittingly adds the most beautiful color to youth. Each student's reply has his or her own characteristics, fully demonstrating his outstanding achievements in the last academic year, achievements in scientific research, voluntary activities and full part-time life. At the end of the reply, the staff will make statistics on the scores of the judges. The reply session will be open and transparent, pay attention to carrying out talent training and discussion in the evaluation of scholarships, and give full play to the exemplary power of special scholarship participants. The defence session showed the teachers and students the outstanding excellent style of the contemporary young students. From them, we see that excellence is not only a goal, but also a habit. We believe that the power of such an example can influence all the students present, so that the excellent quality can be passed down continuously.
