The Case Center of School of Economics and Management of Beijing Jiaotong University ("Case Center"for short) was established in April 2014. With the vision of "building into a first-class case center of China and being in line with international standards" and the mission of "gathering business intelligence, promoting management innovation, and enhancing the college brand", it is committed to innovating Chinese local management theory, improving teachers' case teaching level, enhancing students' practical and innovative ability and promoting the social service ability of the college.
The Case Center, based on the abundant teaching resources of School of Economics and Management of Beijing Jiaotong University, actively encourages teachers to carry out "original, typical and normative" case studies and case development combined with IAR, holds various activities such as case salon, case discussion, case open class etc. and strongly supports teachers to participate in various case teaching, development and research training. At the same time, we support our students to hold and participate in various case competitions, to further improve the management practice and innovation ability of students and assist the college to foster management talents more according with the needs of the society.
By the end of August 2020, the Case Center has held 74 case salons (including open case courses); 210 teachers have participated in the case training both inside and outside the school; 830 students have participated in the case contest; 76 teaching cases have been awarded and selected into the national teaching case database developed by our teachers; the level of case teaching at the college has been significantly improved, and the students have given high evaluation.
In addition to in-depth exchanges with relevant domestic institutions and other university case centers, the Case Center also cooperates with universities with higher level of case study in the United States, Canada and other countries. The Case Center has carried out extensive contacts with enterprises and established a number of case enterprise bases so that case teaching and research can be rooted in practice and finally committed to promoting the improvement of domestic management theory through case study.
