Beijing Jiaotong University Successfully Held LISS 2019 and IEIS 2019 International Academic Conference

On July 27-29, 2019, with the approval of the Ministry of education, the 9th International Conference on logistics Information and Service Science (LISS 2019) and the 6th International Conference on industrial economics systems and Industrial Security Engineering (IEIS 2019) were successfully held. It is sponsored by the international research center of information management theory and technology of Beijing Jiaotong University (ICIR), National Institute of economic security of Beijing Jiaotong University (NAEs), School of Economics and Management of Beijing Jiaotong University and China Industrial Security Research Center of Beijing Jiaotong University (CCISR), the 9th National Institute of information management theory and technology of Beijing Jiaotong University (ICIR), and undertaken by the University of Maryland, USA.  The meeting was held at the University of Maryland in the United States and Beijing Jiaotong University in China. The conference was supported by IEEE SMC, National Natural Science Foundation of China, WANG Kuancheng Education Fund, China Europe Sustainable Engineering Doctoral School, Beijing Logistics Informatization Research Base, and Beijing Key Laboratory of Logistics Management and Technology.

The opening ceremony of the conference was held at 9 AM. local time on July 27 at the University of Maryland and Beijing Jiaotong University. Pro.GUAN Zhongliang, one of the President of the conference and Vice President of Beijing Jiaotong University, attended the opening ceremony of the Beijing Branch venue.

The opening ceremony of the Beijing venue was presided over by the chairman of the conference procedure, ICIR and Pro.SHI Xianliang of the School of Economics and Management. Pro.GUAN Zhongliang, one of the President of the conference and Vice President of Beijing Jiaotong University, delivered a welcome speech to the guests, experts and scholars on behalf of the host. He introduced the history and vision of Beijing Jiaotong University, and wished the conference a complete success. Pro.SHI Xianliang reported on the background and organization of the two meetings on behalf of the organizing committee.

The opening ceremony of the Maryland conference was presided over by Professor Martin Dresner, Smith School of business, University of Maryland. Martin Professor Dresner, on behalf of the host, welcomed the guests and introduced the development, construction and talent cultivation of related disciplines in the University of Maryland and Smith Business School; HUA Guowei, Professor of ICIR and Vice Dean of School of Economics and Management, introduced the development process, discipline construction and talent cultivation of ICIR, School of Economics and Management of Beijing Jiaotong University; one of the presidents of the conference and chief of ICIR On behalf of the Organizing Committee of the conference, Pro.Zhang Runtong and Pro.LIU Kecheng of the University of Reading reported on the background and organization of the two conferences on behalf of the Organizing Committee of the conference, and wished the conference a complete success.

Nine famous scholars in logistics, information technology, service science and industrial security were invited to make keynote speeches. Professor James M. Tien, Minister of foreign affairs of the US Academy of engineering and academician of the US Academy of engineering, made a report entitled "Mass Customization: going third industrial revolution". It reviewed the characteristics of the three industrial revolutions from the perspective of products, services and the integration of the two. He believed that due to the emergence of real-time decision-making technology, artificial intelligence, Internet, mobile network and advanced digital technology, the integration of mass customization products and services is the development direction of future industrial revolution, and new moral problems should be avoided as far as possible; the report title of Professor Michael C. Fu of University of Maryland is "Monte Carlo and machine learning: from alphago" The report reviews the development of alphago and points out that the core algorithm of alphago is Monte Carlo tree search algorithm. On this basis, it further expounds the application of this algorithm in Markov decision making and alpha zero and the future research direction. The information behind thick data for the report discusses the application and progress of medical big data. It thinks that it is not enough to pay attention to the data in electronic medical records, but also needs to pay attention to the data of patients' daily life and health management, and puts forward the methods to obtain the relevant data. The report title of Pro.LIU Kecheng of University of reading is "digital business ecosystem and organizational". The report discusses practical and theoretical issues of digital business ecology, as well as challenges for future research. Professor Gábor Bohács, Budapest University of economics and technology, made a report entitled "increasing efficiency of PLC based material flow control systems using simulation". The concept, theory and method of PLC control system and its application in material management were discussed. Pro.Chengri Ding's report, entitled "the development of megacities in the world and its implications to China's rapid urbanization", discusses the development process and status quo of mega cities in the world and its implications for China's urbanization. Pro.YU Le'an of Beijing University of chemical technology made a report entitled "data train driven big data credit classification for credit services", and proposed a data feature driven framework for credit risk classification. The title of Pro.ZENG Jianqiu's report is "information and OAAs". The report describes the impact and innovation of 5G technology on human life, service innovation and service operation, and points out the new thinking.

From July 27 to 29, 12 lectures will be given at the University of Maryland and Beijing Jiaotong University. Reports and conference papers in related fields have aroused wide interest and strong repercussions of scholars.During the meeting, Pro.HUA Guowei, vice president of School of economics and management, and Pro.Ritu Agarwal, executive vice president of Smith School of business, University of Maryland, discussed and reached a consensus on the in-depth cooperation between ICIR, School of economics and management, as well as between Beijing Jiaotong University and University of Maryland in personnel training, scientific research, especially in logistics informatization related disciplines. With the approval of the Organizing Committee of the Congress, the 10th liss and 7th IEIS will be held by Budapest University of technology and economics in July 2020.

LISS conference is jointly sponsored by ICIR of Beijing Jiaotong University, University of reading, Penn State University and University of California, Berkeley. It aims to gather experts, scholars and professionals in logistics, information technology, service science and other related fields, discuss academic issues, grasp future development opportunities and discipline development trends, and exchange the latest research results and academic ideas. The IEIS conference was jointly sponsored by ccisr of Beijing Jiaotong University, ICIR of Beijing Jiaotong University, and University of California, Berkeley. It aims to gather experts, scholars and business people from all over the world to focus on the national strategic needs and discipline frontiers in the field of industrial economy and industrial security, and use scientific ideas, methods and technologies to solve academic problems in the field of industrial economy and industrial security To conduct research and discussion and support scientific solutions to major problems in national economy, social development and national economic security of all countries.

Each session was approved by the Ministry of education, supported and helped by leaders and teachers of Beijing Jiaotong University, relevant competent departments and School of economics and management. At present, LISS has been successfully held for 8 consecutive sessions in Beijing Jiaotong University, reading university, University of California, Berkeley, Catalonia University of technology in Spain, Sydney University in Australia, Kyoto University in Japan and University of Toronto in Canada. Since 2014, LISS conference has been officially included in the IEEE conference sequence, and all papers meeting the requirements will be submitted Submit to IEEE Xplore database. The IEIS conference has been successfully held for five consecutive sessions at the University of California, Berkeley, Catalonia University of technology in Spain, Sydney University in Australia, Kyoto University in Japan and University of Toronto in Canada. Since 2016, it has been officially included in the IEEE conference sequence, and all papers meeting the requirements will be submitted to the IEEE Xplore database.
