From October 6 to October 9, 2019, Pro.ZHANG Juliang, Pro.HUA Guowei, Pro.CHANG Dan, and five doctoral students from the International Center for Informatics Research of Beijing Jiaotong University (ICIR) attended the IEEE SMC Annual Meeting in Bari, Italy, on behalf of the IEEE SMC Professional Committee on Logistics Informatization and Industrial Security.
At this annual meeting, ICIR successfully organized the special session of "Logistics, Information and Service Science". Pro. ZHANG Juliang and Pro.HUA Guowei are the chairman of the special session. During the meeting, Pro.ZHANG and the participating doctoral students presented the latest research results of the team. The professors participated in the meeting of the special committee and the IEEE SMC Chinese Scholars Exchange Meeting, with Pro.CHEN Phillip, former chairman of IEEE SMC, Pro.Kwong Tak Wu Sam, former vice president of IEEE SMC Society, Pro.ZHOU Mengchu, President of IEEE SMC Annual Meeting and current Vice President of IEEE SMC, Pro.TANG Ying, Secretary General of IEEE SMC and Pro.DONG Daoyi, et al. The meeting discussed topics such as further developing the special committee construction, enhancing the influence of the special committee in the international academic circles, and preparing for LISS2020 and IEIS2020 international conferences, and exchanging views on the work and future work plan of the special committee in the past year.
IEEE SMC Annual Conference is the flagship conference of IEEE SMC academic department, which brings together top scholars in the fields of global systems, human and cybernetics. ICIR of Beijing Jiaotong University successfully applied for and was approved to establish the IEEE SMC Logistics Informatization and Industrial Safety professional committee in 2016. Under the guidance of IEEE SMC, ICIR carried out research work in related disciplines, and carried out scientific and technological cooperation, standard leading, personnel training and other work around the world. The LISS and IEIS series international conferences founded by ICIR have become a series of academic conferences under IEEE SMC in 2016, and brought great international influence in related disciplines. The international conferences of LISS and IEIS in 2020 will be held in Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Hungary.
