On the morning of September 17, Prof. Hsin-Li Chang from National Chiao Tung University in Taiwan was kindly invited to give a lecture as to how to prepare and draft a high-quality academic paper to candidates of Postgraduate and Doctoral Program at Z310 in Machinery Building of Engineering College of School of Economics and Management. Prof. Ru Yihong attended the special lecture.

Prof. Chang focused on the topic: contribution and preparation for excellent journals.
Prof. Chang presented the lecture to the teachers and students in the simplistic but humorous remarks about his research work and experience in preparing and drafting research papers and his own proposals. Prof. Chang pointed out the starting point for drafting the high-quality research papers lay in the essences of the relevant research problems. He continued, in the realistic research, most students got used to applying the theories to identify the problems as they had absorbed the fuller theoretical knowledge, but their research papers were highly featured with the formalities, lack of instructiveness and true research values. Prof. Chang emphasized that the key of drafting the high-quality research paper lies in the critical thinking. Students are supposed to continue to closely question: are we doing that way? How can we improve ourselves? etc. At last, Prof. Chang gave typical cases as to the methods and skills for drafting papers and the instructions on how to have academic papers successfully published in the excellent journals.

The students attending Prof. Chang catering to the candidates of Postgraduate and Doctoral Program gave the warm and positive response. After the lecture, they made the further discussion as to their own research fields and the relevant problems with Prof. Chang.
