On the morning of September 18, our schoolos Case Study Center convened the 4th Case Salon and Prof. Hsin-Li Chang from National Chiao Tung University in Taiwan was kindly invited to give a case teaching lecture under the theme of pStrong Promotion of Case Teaching Method—Experience of School of Economics and Managementq.
Prof. Chang, first of all, introduced the case teaching method and the case teaching situation of Harvard Business School MBA Programs, including the lecture model, classroom design and the interactive communication with the students, etc. Plus, he introduce the experience as to how National Chiao Tung University in Taiwan cultivated its faculty to conduct the case teaching, particularly by dispatching teachers to Harvard University for further study and improving the hardware conditions for teaching, etc.
Prof. Chang introduced to the teachers of our school as to how to conduct the case teaching from the perspective of his own teaching experience. Taking as the case study his own lecture entitled pEntrepreneur Spirit- Action Conquering Allq, he expounded on ho to properly and flexibly use the cases in the classroom teaching activities.
This salon was held in RM. 513 in East Siyuan Building and was presided over by Associate Dean Cui Yongmei, attended by a dozen teachers, particularly including Wu Jianhong, etc. Prof. Changos lecture was vividly presented with great passion and warmth, so the teachers were greatly motivated benefited a lot from his lecture. At last, both sides reached the consensus in the hope that they would enhance their cooperation in respect of the case teaching research and application to promote the mutual cooperation and the teaching and research of Chinaos management cases.
