Invited by the School Branch of Management Engineering, Prof. Amiya K. Chakravarty from Business School of Northeast University, USA gave an academic presentation called Intellectual property leakage in supply chains: multistage tradeoffs in outsourcing for teachers and students from our School of Economics and Management on October 11, 2014. The presentation meeting was hosted by Prof. Zhang Juliang, President of the School Branch of Management Engineering. Attendants included: Prof. Ding Huiping, Associate Prof. and Party Secretary of the School Branch of Management Engineering Zhou Jianqin, Prof. and Vice President of the School Branch of Management Engineering Gou Juanqiong, Prof. and Dean of Department of Logistics Li Yisong, Associate Prof. Hua Guowei, Associate Prof. Lu Xiaochun, Associate Prof. Guo Chunfang, Doctor Huang Di. Over 30 PhD and Master candidates also attended the meeting.
 
Prof. Chakravarty introduced his latest research achievement, leakage problems of intellectual property rights resulted in the context of supply chain management outsourcing, which is one of the latest research focuses of supply chain management. Started by the cause and influence of intellectual property rights, Prof. Chakravarty analyzed real context of leakage problems of intellectual property rights in simple language. In this context, he put forward a game model including three parties, analyzed the mechanism of leakage problems of intellectual property rights and its influence on three partieso interest in detail, and made some suggestion about optimal strategies for three parties respectively.
 
Students showed high interest in Prof. Chakravartyos research, spoke up about it, and actively joined in discussion. After the presentation, many students put forward their own questions and opinions. Prof. Chakravarty answered those questions in detail, warmly communicate with the students, and spoke highly about their initiative in thinking about academics.
 
The presentation ended with relaxation and happiness. After the meeting, Prof. Chakravarty met Lu Xiyan, Director of International Communication of the School of Economics and Management. They deeply discussed about cooperations in personnel training, exchange of visits between teachers and students and international communications between School of Economics and Management, Beijing Jiatong University and Business School of Northeast University. Both of them express the will to promote bilateral cooperation. Prof. Chakravarty also talked with all the teachers in International Certificate Office of School of Economics and Management, and gave some precious advice for international certification of our school.
 
Prof. Chakravarty is the leading professor in the Business School of Northeast University. He is also an editor of POMS, which is one of the best journals in the field of management science. Prof. Chakravarty has a very high reputation and influence in the international academic circles in the logistics management.
