At noon of October 17, 2014, Teach-in of University of Kentucky-Business School (UK) for 2+2 Undergraduate Program was smoothly held at School of Economics and Management, BJTU. There were nearly 30 undergraduate students from the International Class of School of Economics and Management attended this teach-in.
This activity was sponsored by International Exchange Center of School of Economics and Management. Dr. Nancy Johnson, executive director of International Program of University of Kentucky-Business School introduced the Kentucky-Business School (UK) for 2+2 Undergraduate Program with BJTU. Ms. Nancy Johnson started with the teach-in by making a self-introduction in a jocular and witty manner, and then played a UK promotion video for about three minutes, which facilitated the students to have a better understanding of leading advantages of UK, a public research comprehensive university with the large student scale in the USA (15000-29999 students on campus),particularly in respect of the student cultivation, discipline building and faculty team building, etc., through the interview with the UK teachers and students. At the same time, she also showed us the advanced teaching equipment and facilities of UK and the humanistic management model and the relaxed development environment for the students coming from all different countries.
Furthermore,Ms. Nancyintroduced all relevant performance requirements for applying for the 2+2 undergraduate program, particularly clarifying the score requirements for language exam (TOEFL and IELTS). Then, Ms. Nancy focused on the introduction of the Kentucky business of this university with its peculiar features, pointing out that UK not only required the students to pay more attention to the cultivation of the mentality and the professional knowledge and also to the studentso vocational skills and the future development. She also played a video displaying the abundant extra-curricular activities for the students. Plus, Ms. Nancy made a point of providing the students with the relevant information as to how to adapt themselves to the American life, which fully demonstrated the humanistic care and concern of UK for its students. These contents deeply impressed the students who had a better understanding of UK and their enthusiasm was greatly aroused to apply for UK program. The teach-in came to an end against the warm atmosphere and the students were active in communicate with Ms. Nancy who also patiently answered the questions raised by the students about how to apply for UK program.
Against the warm applause from the students, this Teach-in came to an end. The wonderful lecture given by Ms. Nancy facilitated the students to have a deeper understanding of UK and its 2+2 Program and they could also have the clear targets for their further academic pursuit.
