National pYouth Creativityq College Student Innovative Undertaking Competition (formerly pChallenge CUPq Business Plan Competition), co-sponsored by Central Committee of the Communist Young League, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), National Association of Students and the Peopleos Government of Hubei Province,  jointly supported by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) and All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, and organized by Huazhong University of Science and Technology, was rounded off on November 4, 2014. In the finals, two teams from our University won the silver award and five teams won the Bronze Award. The overall competition level gained remarkable improvement. Our University obtained the best results in terms of the number of winning works in the pChallenge CUPq Business Plan Competition. At the same time, our teams from our University in participating in the Capital pYouth Creativityq College Student Innovative Undertaking Competition won the silver award for Beijing City and 6 teams won the bronze award for Beijing City and "Challenge Cup" in the Capital pYouth Creativityq College Student Innovative Undertaking Competition.

 

Since the official launch of Capital pYouth Creativityq College Student Innovative Undertaking Competition, it has attracted altogether more than 2000 colleges and universities from 31 provinces and municipalities within Mainland China and Hong Kong, Macau with nearly 20,000 works involved in the provincial competitions. At last, 385 Innovative Undertaking Projects from 209 colleges and universities entered into the national finals. In November 2013, our University launched the selection work for this competition on campus. 241 forces within our University signed up to the competition, involving 1200 students, all told. Our University paid closer attention to this competition and BJTU Youth League, Office of Academic Affairs, Postgraduate School, School of Economics and Management and School of Computers and other relevant departments and offices were positively involved with the participation and mutual cooperation. In the course of the team selection for the competition, the Competition Organizing Committee paid great attention to the building of the integrated talent cultivation, fully conducting the supporting service, improving the competition mechanism and safeguarding the smooth development of the competition. With a view to enhancing the quality of the works for the competition, our university invited scholars and experts, entrepreneurs, venture capital professionals in the relevant fields to serve as members of pexpert review panelq and pproject supervisorsq, responsible for the strict guidance and supervision of the competition projects, The activities related to the Capital pYouth Creativityq College Student Innovative Undertaking Competition, which lasted for nearly one year, greatly improved the awareness and capacities of the students of our university, particularly in respect of the innovation, originality, creativity and entrepreneurship to have strongly promoted the building of the innovative undertaking campus atmosphere and the excellent academic style and discipline.

 

The relevant responsible leaders from BJTU Youth League, Office of Academic Affairs, Admission and Employment Office, School of Economics and Management, Telecommunications School and the innovative undertaking instructors and contestants, altogether 13 persons, were positively involved in the competition.
