On December 1, 2014, an academic lecture entitled "Face-to-Face Exchange with Masters" sponsored by Postgraduate Work Department and held by at SD306 of Business Administration College. Wu Changqi, a professor of Strategic Management Science of Guanghua School of Management, Peking University, gave an academic report entitled q Chinese-style Innovationq, which was presided over by Prof. Zhang Wensong, dean of Business Administration College.
Prof. Wu Changqi thought that Chinaos economic growth, to some extent, should be attributable to the spillover effect brought about by the capital inflow and the technical transfer due to the opening-up and reform policies; the future economic development of China will depend on whether China can develop itself into an innovation-oriented country. With the joint efforts made by the state-owned sectors and the private sectors and the transnational corporations, Chinaos innovation system has been highly efficient, yet there is still huge space for improvement. Only by continuously reforming and improving the innovation system, innovative development model, innovation talent cultivation, innovation capital channel and innovative technical market, protection of IPRs can China ultimately stand out as an innovation-oriented country.
Prof. Wu Changqi, is currently a professor of Strategic Management Science of Guanghua School of Management, Peking University, chairman of Development Strategy Research Institute of National Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone at Peking University, chairman of Guanghua Leadership Institute of Peking University and the deputy director of Institute of International Management studies at Peking University, chairman of Greater China of International Business Society, a member of the editorial committee of such magazines as pEuropean Management Reviewq, pJournal of World Businessq and pEconomic Managementq, etc. His major research fields are involved with the strategic management and international business and industrial economics. He has published many professional works, such as, pStrategic Role of Oligopolistic Competition under the Condition of Vertical Integrationq, pCompetition Policy and Corporate Governanceq, pChinese Enterprises' Internationalization Strategy : Theory and Empirical Studiesq, etc., and also published his research results in pRand Journal of Economicsq, pInternational Journal of Industrial Organizationq, pJournal of World Businessq, pEconomic Research Journalq, pManagement Worldq, pChina Industrial Economicsq and other domestic and overseas academic journals. He also took charge of the NSFC Key Program entitled pDevelopment Strategy of Chinese Enterprises' Internationalizationq, and now he takes charge of the key program entitled pStudy on Strategy of Chinese Enterprises' Foreign Direct Investment and Acquisitions Abroadq and also undertakes the research of the national key technical theme pOverall Research on Mobile Internet Industryq, etc.
Prof. Wu kept talking for two hours to interpret pChinese-style Innovationq different from the innovation system and model of the western countries to the teachers and students through the comparative analysis of the domestic and overseas innovation models, development process analysis and the analysis of the innovation features of the different main bodies. Prof. Wuos lecture was rich in contents, exemplified with detailed cases, particularly in the humorous language and witty manners to offer the enlightening insights, so the students and teachers, so his lecture was highly praised and well accepted.
