On December 8, 2014, at the invitation of Management Engineering College, Dr. Qian Ying, Deputy Secretary General of the Professional Committee of System Dynamics, the System Engineering Society of China and an associate professor of School of Management, Shanghai University gave an academic report at our school entitled pCurrent Situation and development Prospect of System Dynamicsq. The academic report was presided over by Prof. Li Yisong, director of Logistics Management Department, attended by teachers, including Prof. Mu Dong and Associate Professor Zhang Keming, etc., and 60-odd Ph.D candidates and postgraduates. Prof. Cui Yongmei, deputy dean of School of Economics and Management, Prof. Li Yisong, director of Logistics Management Department, Prof. Mu Dong and Associate Professor Zhou Jianqin, party secretary of Management Engineering College shared an in-depth exchange withDr. Qian Ying.

Dr. Qian Ying presented a wonderful interpretation of the principles and application of System Dynamics.Dr. Qian, first of all, introduced the origin of System Dynamics, domestic and overseas well-known principles of System Dynamics and the relevant books related to Industry Dynamics, System Principles, Urban Dynamics, World Dynamics and Business System Dynamics, etc., particularly sorting out and interpreting the researchers and the research contents of the domestic System Dynamics. Dr. Qian also focused on the basic principles of System Dynamics involving the causal feedback loop, stock and flow and delay, etc., and also conducted the analysis of the application of the abovementioned principles with typical examples. Dr. Qian made a point of interpreting the application of System Dynamics, respectively conducting the analysis of the study cases of the enterprises and the government, also focusing on the introduction of the process reengineering and system integration, sorting out and summarizing the factors related to the specific application in the government and in combination with the society, economy and environment, etc., particularly conducting the detailed interpretation from the point of view of his own research projects and the results as the study cases. At last, Dr. Qian shared the interactive exchange with the teachers and students attending his report and also conducted the heated discussion over the principle of the System Dynamics and its practical application.

Dr. Qianos speech broadened the horizons of teachers and students and the fascinating interactive communication and the typical study cases were well recognized and accepted by all participants.
