On the morning of December 18, 2014, Teach-in of University of Cincinnati (UC) for 2+2 Undergraduate Program was smoothly conducted at BJTU School of Economics and Management was smoothly held at School of Economics and Management, attended by nearly 20 undergraduates of International Class of our school.
This activity was sponsored by International Exchange Center of School of Economics and Management. Prof. Larry Gales, director of International Project Department of University of Cincinnati (UC) and Ms. Rufan Li of MBA Business School of University of Cincinnati (UC), came over to our school to conduct the Teach-in of the exchange programs of UC, mainly including 2+2 Undergraduate Program, the Postgraduate Recommended Masteros Program and Master 1+1 Program.
First of all, Prof. Gales and Ms. Rufan Li made the brief self-introduction and entered upon this teach-in, and then introduced the Schools & Colleges of UC and the dominant specialties and their rankings to facilitate us to fully understand that UC is a public comprehensive university with 16 colleges or schools, and its School of Engineering and Business School are most popular with the applicants. At the same time, Prof. Gales also vividly presented the beautiful and highly featured campus landscape and views of UC with a group of photos as well as the convenient geographical location as it is located at the center of the city. Next, Prof. Gales introduced the admission requirements and the program features for 2+2 Undergraduate Program, the Postgraduate Recommended Master's Program and Master 1+1 Program. In the meanwhile, Prof. Gales also remarked that the US Cooperative Education originated in UC (in 1906) and after that, various US universities and more than 40 countries followed suit. In the process of the Cooperative Education, students will learn and apply the theoretical knowledge into their post practice and the challenges and problems arising from the work will further promote the students to conduct the in-depth study of the relevant theories. This Cooperative Education can provide the students with the optimal opportunities for the future employment after graduation, so the students can better understand the future career development conditions of the specialty they are currently engaged in. At the same time, they can obtain the necessary information about their future employment. At last Prof. Gales and Ms. Rufan Li patiently answered the questions raised by the students about the UC campus security, scholarship and Summer School programs.
Against the warm applause from the students, this Teach-in came to an end. The wonderful teach-in lecture given by Prof. Gales and Ms. Rufan Li facilitated the students to have a deeper understanding of UC and its 2+2 Program and they could also had the clear targets for their further academic pursuit.
