Academic year 2013-2014 Yang Aifen Scholarship Granting Ceremony and Accounting Students Experience-sharing Meeting concluded

On December 18, 2014, academic year 2013-2014 Yang Aifen Scholarship Granting Ceremony and Accounting Students Experience-sharing Meeting of the School of Economics and Management were held in Dongsi Room 611. Professor Yang Aifen with the accounting department of the School, Beijing Zhonglihong Specialized Services Group Co., Ltdos President Mr. Li Xielin and Ms. Xu Jinsong, deputy director of office of external communication and cooperation of BJTU and deputy secretary general of Education Foundation attended the ceremony and delivered speeches. The ceremony was hosted by Cui Yongmei, deputy secretary of Party and vice president of the School.  
 
According to Xu Jinsong, Yang Aifen Scholarship was established by Mr. Li Xielin, a former student who was enrolled to the School in 2002, in recognition of professor Yang Aifenos teaching efforts and in the hope that scholarship-winning students will work harder to add glory to the school. 
 
Professor Yang Aifen expressed congratulations to five scholarship-winning students, expecting them to work harder, aim higher and contribute to the schoolos future and the wider society with greater academic achievements. 
 
President Li Xielin extended heartfelt thanks to professor Yang Aifen for her teaching efforts and to the School and its education foundation for generous support, adding that Zhonglihong Group Ltd desires to further work with the School on academic research, business development and talent development. Meanwhile, he expected scholarship-winning students to deepen communication and exchange and support the business growth of Zhonglihong Specialized Services Group Ltd.  

 
After the ceremony, Zhonghongli Groupos representative, postgraduate student office and department of student affairs presented certificate of merit and scholarship to five doctoral students, postgraduate students and undergraduate students. Scholarship-winning postgraduate Ge Weijie and scholarship-winning undergraduate student Chen Xiaoying expressed heartfelt gratitude to professor Yang Aifen and Zhonglihong Group Ltd for the financial assistance and to BJTU and the school for their care, vowing to work hard bearing in mind the school motto and endeavor to become multidisciplinary talents with professional competency and moral integrity. 
Cui Yongmei described the annual scholarship-giving practice with an accounting term of perpetuity and proposed to establish a club for previous scholarship-winning students and hold accounting specialty workshop to deepen the communication and exchange between Zhonglihong and scholarship-winning students and the cooperation between the School and Zhonglihong.   After the ceremony, five scholarship-winning students shared their thoughts and ideas about how to learn accounting specialty with other students, including learning approach, academic planning, internship and employment. While advising other students to pursue CPA program, attend forefront lectures and stay informed about current situation and strive for continued education and internship opportunities, they encouraged their fellows to exploit their potential and stay positive all the time. 
 
Also present at the ceremony were manager of administrative department of Beijing Zhonglihong Specialized Services Group Ltd Cai Zao, teacher Qin Yin with the department of postgraduate student affairs, teacher Xu Li with department of student affairs, head of postgraduate student section of the School Mr. Song Guangsen, teacher Zhou Yi of the office for moral education of postgraduate students, director of office of social services and alumni Lu Weizhong, deputy director of office of social services and alumni Fen Yao and many other students.   
 
Yang Aifen Scholarship is the first of its kind ever established at the School in the name of a teacher, which is intended to provide financial assistance to academically and morally outstanding students at the School. So far, 20 students benefit from this scholarship. The establishment of the scholarship represents another form of donation from alumni and is very important to improving the teaching effectiveness and the level of alumni services at the school.
