At 14:00-15:30 on December 25, 2014, a lecture was held by at SD720 of Business Administration College. Mr. Guo Sheng, CEO of Zhaopin. Com, and Mr. Hao Jian, director of Product Department of Zhaopin. Com, jointly gave an academic report entitled pRoad for my own Career Growthq, which was presided over by Prof. Zhang Wendong of Business Administration College.
CEO Guoshared his ideas about his own career growth, particularly his own life experience and the actual career course. CEO Guo thought that in view of finding a job, the students should first of all map out his own career direction, particularly having the in-depth understanding of themselves in the career selection process, and actually the final result didnot really matter but the selection process was really important; next, CEO Guo suggested to the students that they should make the preparation for finding a job 2 years in advance, particularly mapping out the detailed plan for a future job, so the career selection preceded the actual process for finding a job. He also reminded the students of the specific questions to be raised in the job interviews and suggested to the students that they should cherish each internship opportunity; at last, in the interactive exchange session, the students were active in raising their own questions, and CEO Guo gave thm the profound analysis and the satisfactory answers to the questions raised by the students. Tan Jie, a teacher from Postgraduate Division also attended this lecture and conducted the exchange with CEO Guo concerning the college study employment in the hope that the school could conduct the in-depth cooperation with Zhaopin.comto strongly support the students for better employment. This lecture was well accepted, having won the good praises and warm welcome from the teachers and students.
After the lecture, CEO Guo and Dean Zhang has a cooperation discussion at SD724, having reached a preliminary intention concerning such matters as the building of the student practical base, the training and consulting business cooperation, the special recruitment fairs for BJTU organized by the British and US high-end Talent Headhunting agencies and Zhaopin.com. Later, "Enterprise Inspection Tour by Professors and Experts" Group from Business Administration College will give the follow-up visit to Zhaopin.com and sign the strategic cooperation agreement.
In 2010 Mr. Guo began to serve as CEO of Zhaopin.com which was publicly listed as NYZPIN on New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) as the only Chinese career development Internet platform. He was the first Chinese company directly authorized by McKinsey as the consultant and ultimately became the global McKinsey global managing partner. During the 7 years when he served McKinsey, he was mainly responsible for the operating the successful IPO of many Hi-tech enterprises at Nasdaq. In 1999 he obtained his MBA degree from Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management and won the title of the honorary graduate from Kellogg School of Management. CEO Guo also served as CEO of Sinotrans Transportation Development Co. Ltd. and the director of DHL-Sinotrans, director of Galaxy Airlines, board chairman of OCS Express, CEO of MIPS Technologies, Inc., and the Investment bank manager of M&A Department of US Bear Stearns Companies Inc. (headquartered in New York).
This report is one of the annual reports of series of lectures entitled "Road for Career Growth" of "Road for Student Growth in three major sectors" highly recommended by Business Administration College, which consists of activities for "Road for Academic Growth", "Road for Career Growth" and "Road for Entrepreneurial Growth" initiated by Business Administration College.
