On the afternoon of December 25, 2014, a visiting group from School of Economics and Management,Shanghai Maritime University (SMU) came over to BJTU School of Economics and Management for the research and consultation related to the discipline building, key project application, talent attraction and international cooperation, etc., including, Dean and Prof. Liu Bin, Prof. Yang Yongsheng, director of Science and Technology Department, Prof. Chen Weijiong, dean of Scientific Research Institute, Prof. Yang Bin, director of Logistics Research Center. Zhang Qiusheng, dean of School of Economics and Management, Associate Dean Shi xianliang, Zhang Junliang, dean of Business Administration College, Prof. Li Yisong, director of Logistics Department, and Lin Zikui, director of Laboratory attended this seminar.
At the seminar, Dean Zhang Qiusheng and Associate Dean Shi Xianliang respectively introduced all disciplines of our school, particularly the development history and the current situations of the management science and engineering discipline, the discipline direction and fields and the scientific research tasks and the scientific research results thus produced, the organization and management of major scientific research programs, discipline management mechanism, the attraction, allocation and evaluation of discipline research talents and the specific developments in the discipline building, particularly the results arising from the foreign exchange and cooperation.
All experts and professors conducted the heated discussion over the hot issues related to the building of themanagement science and engineering discipline, particularly the building of the faculty force and the achievement of the discipline research results and also conducted the profound analysis of the major issues of the current management science and engineering discipline and the current obstacles and the direction of the reform development, etc., from different angles and different aspects and levels.
SMU and BJTU have enjoyed the long-term cooperation with the practical results having been obtained in the field of the logistics management discipline and the cooperative research of FTA Supply Chain between both schools. This exchange further enhanced the mutual understanding of both sides and strongly promoted the in-depth cooperation for the economic management discipline between both schools. Dean Liu Bin and his visiting group from SMU expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the warm reception given by leaders and teachers of BJTU School of Economics and Management, and also kindly invited leaders and teachers of BJTU School of Economics and Management for the research and consultation at SMU.
