At 14:10 on the afternoon of January 8, 2015, Associate Professor and Ph.D. Supervisor Zhang Hui, Dean of School of Economics, Peking University, gave a special lecture entitled pChina's Regional Economic Development Concepts and Modelsq, which was held at DS 611 of Economics College, and was presided over by Prof. Bu Wei and attended by Prof. Rong Chaohe, Prof. Shi Meixia, Prof. Ye Shujun, etc., and other teachers and some postgraduates form Economics College. 
 

The speech given by Associate Professor Zhang Huimainly focused on three aspects, respectively Chinaos regional economic development strategic evolution of after its founding, the current regional integration and industrial diversification trends and the national strategy of the regional economic development. Associate Professor Zhang Hui introduced the current backgrounds of the regional development strategy of pBeijing-Tianjin-Hebei Integrationq to the teachers and students present at the lecture in the simple and acceptable language to mainly discuss the three major phases of Chinaos regional economic development strategies, giving the detailed analysis of the features and the involving regularities of the development strategy of each phase, pointing out the necessity of "transforming the economic development models", namely activating the market vitality through the regional integrated development model, efficiently allocating the resources and boosting the new economic growth. Next, Associate Professor Zhang Hui analyzed the current development situation of pBeijing-Tianjin-Hebei Regionq and the difficult issues as to how to effectively achieve the regional integration by combining the relevant theories of the regional economics with Chinaos actual situations, putting forward the two development approaches on the strength of the gradient type development and the leap-forward development in the regional integrated urban development. At last, Associate Professor Zhang Hui analyzed the national-level regional development strategy and explored for the evolution of Chinaos regional development strategy and the future development priorities. 
 

After the lecture, the students gave the warm response and conducted the in-depth discussion and exchange with Associate Professor Zhang Hui concerning some hot issues.

This lecture came to a successful conclusion, having provided the rich knowledge for the relevant studies of  "the regional integration" and the direction for the profound thinking, favorably conducive to the further promotion of the relevant research and studies.
