On May 5 morning 2015, the nameplate unveiling ceremony of Research Center of Silk Road of Beijing Jiaotong University was held in multifunctional hall of Hongguoyuan Hotel of Beijing Jiaotong University. Party Secretary of Beijing Jiaotong University, Prof. Yan Wuer, Member of Academic Committee of Development Research Center of the State Council, President of China Development Press and China Development Observation magazine and Chairman of Guoyan Cultural Media Corporation, Bao Yueyang, and Vice President of School of Economics and Management of Beijing Jiaotong University, Prof. Shi Xianliang attended the ceremony and gave addresses. The ceremony was hosted by Prof. Zhang Wensong, Director of Research Center of Silk Road of Beijing Jiaotong University and President of Sub-School of Industrial and Commercial Management of School of Economics and Management.

Prof. Zhang Wensong, Director of Research Center of Silk Road of Beijing Jiaotong University, made an introduction to Research Center of Silk Road and its future work, including long time follow-up research on One Belt and One Road related issues of economics, trade, culture, tourism, science, technology, intangible cultural heritage, foundation of public fund of Research Development of Silk Road, initiation of cultural activity of Walk Again on Silk Road, serial forum of Silk Road Comments, publishing of serial books of Silk Road and Special issue of New Silk Road, establishment of International Cultural Festival of Silk Road through cooperation with cities on Silk Road, etc.  

On the ceremony, it was announced the establishment of Institute of Cultural Industry of Research Center of Silk Road of Beijing Jiaotong University. Director of the Institute, Wangwei, said that it would improve the implementation and development of One Belt and One Road strategy by digging local cultural characteristics along the Silk Road, strengthening cultural innovation, and pursuing combination of art, science, technology, culture and finance.  

In future, Research Center of Silk Road of Beijing Jiaotong University will establish Institute of Tourism Development, Institute of Intangible Cultural Heritage, Institute of Scientific Innovation, etc. The Research Center focuses on creating a high-level team of policy research and decision-making consultation of Silk Road, supporting national strategic policy making of Silk Road, and making the Research Center a new style first-class think tank of Silk Road in China.  

After the ceremony, the Research Center held a seminar of Silk Road Comments. Research Center of Silk Road of Beijing Jiaotong University was a research institution established by approval of Beijing Jiaotong University and co-constructed by School of Economics and Management of Beijing Jiaotong University and Guoyan Cultural Media Corporation. Its aim is to making long time follow-up research on issues that will turn up during implementation of One Belt and One Road strategy, providing knowledge support and development guide for governments, social institutions, enterprises and government-affiliated institutions. Both sides will take full advantage of respective expert and scientific resources to make strategic research on economic development along Silk Road, supporting the implementation of national strategy of One Belt and One Road.
