Recently, our university received official notice from Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) approving establishment of IEEE Technical Committee on Logistics Informatics and Industrial Security Systems (LIISS), which was initiated and constructed together by International Center for Informatics Research (ICIR) and China Center for Industrial Security Research (CCISR) of Beijing Jiaotong University. LIISS is one of professional committees of IEEE System, Man and Cybernetics Society (SMC). Its executive institution is located in ICIR and CCISR. Till now, LIISS has received congratulatory letters from Chairmen of other IEEE technical committees and IEEE SMC.
 

Establishment approval of an IEEE technical committee needs a series of strict evaluating procedures of Board of IEEE and relative academic committees. IEEEos approval of Technical Committee on Logistics Informatics and Industrial Security Systems (LIISS) established by ICIR and CCISR of our university indicates that research achievements and academic activities in relative fields of our university have been recognized and respected by international authorized academic organizations and colleagues. It has an important influence on publicity of achievements in logistics management, information management and industrial security disciplines of our university and promotion of disciplinary development and international influence.
 

Chairmen of IEEE Technical Committee on Logistics Informatics and Industrial Security Systems are Prof. Zhang Zhenji, Zhang Runtong and Li Menggang of our university and Prof. Martin Dresner of U.S. Maryland University. It has over 30 committee members coming from over 10 countries and regions such as China, the United States, the Great Britain, Germany, Spain, France, Italy and Chile. Research themes of the technical committee include industrial security systems and engineering, such as intellectual logistics, intellectual city, intellectual supplying chains, electric commerce, intellectual constructions, internet of things and big data, energy security, information security, logistics security, environmental security, etc.
 

The technical committee is an international academic organization leading and instructing research of relative themes. Its aims are to provide academic service for IEEE members and scholars in relative academic fields and to promote worldwide theoretic and practical research standards of relative themes, by establishing internet engineering laboratories, holding relative international academic meetings, publishing international academic journals, developing training and education, making international standards and co-organizing research projects.
 

IEEE is an international association for engineers of electronic technology and information science, dedicating to research and practice in relative fields of electrics, electronics, computing engineering and science, information science and management engineering. It is the worldos largest non-profitable professional technical society, with nearly 500 members in over 160 countries. In its relative core fields, IEEEos publications cover almost 1/3 of the whole world. IEEE technical committee is an academic expert committee authority focusing on a certain field, aiming at organizing, serving and instructing scientific research and academic exchange for worldwide IEEE members and relative researchers.
