Prof. Yu Chunyan of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, U.S. gave lessons for our school

From June 15-16, Prof. Yu Chunyan of School of Air Transport Management of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, U.S. paid a visit to our school. She not only gave lessons for undergraduate students, but also communicated with teachers and students of Sub-School of Management Engineering. Vice President in Charge of our school, Prof. Zhang Li, Director of International Exchange Center, Associate Prof. Lu Xiyan, President of Sub-School of Management Engineering, Prof. Zhang Juliang, Dean of Department of Logistic Management, Prof. Li Yisong and Ru Yihong, Tian Yuan, Lan Hongjie, Zheng Kai participated in the communication.
 
Prof. Yu Chunyan works as a teacher in School of Air Transport Management of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Her research focuses on performance management, lever management, supervision policy analysis, demand analysis and prediction, measurement and analysis of productive capacity and efficiency, ownership style of transport infrastructure, pricing and cost refund, etc. of airports and airlines in the field of aviation transportation. Prof. Yu has published many papers on internationally famous journals, such as Journal of Transport Economics and Policy, Transportation Research A, Transportation Research-E, Journal of Air Transport Management, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Urban Economics, Transport Policy, and European Journal of Operational Research. She also has completed many government policy reports in the field of aviation of Canada, Asia and Europe in cooperation with others.
 
During her visit, Prof. Yu Chunyan gave expanding lessons of Warehousing Management and Operation Management for undergraduate students of our school and gave a frontier lecture of pOverview of international air transport researchq. In her teaching, Prof. Yu Chunyan introduced problems and challenges of Boeing 787 supplying chains in her simple and humorous language. By analyzing Boeing company case, she discussed real problems and challenges present in air transport supplying chains and introduced relevant research and practical overview of basic business of US air transport. As for the aviation safety issue, she introduced relevant research of air transport safety and safeguard economics and pointed future research trend of this field. Prof. Yu Chuyan listed different ways of paper writing of this field and encouraged students to make innovative thinking and try and imagine and not lower demand for themselves to merely cope with problems. Participant students reacted positively to Prof. Yu Chunyanos lecture and fully discussed their interested problems in the lecture. Finally, Prof. Yu Chunyan explained courses setting of air transport supplying chains in US universities and had a full exchange and communication with teachers of our school. They reached a consensus of more educational cooperation between two universities in future.
 
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU or Riddle) is a private university of aeronautical science and technology, located in Daytona Beach of State of California and Prescott of State of Arizona. ERAU is one of few universities in the world which are oriented by aeronautical education. The university has more than 90 airplanes for teaching and flying training. The Times magazine took the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University as the Harvard of the sky like a temple of flying.
