University of Ljubljana Delegation Visits School of Economics and Management at Beijing Jiaotong University

On October 29, 2024, Professor Tomaž Turk, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Ljubljana, along with Uroš Uranič, Head of the Information Center at the Faculty of Economics and Business, and Ms. Danijela Voljc, Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Ljubljana, visited our School for cooperation and exchange discussions.

During the meeting, Vice Dean Shang Xiaopu introduced the recent developments and achievements of the School of Economics and Management. He highlighted the School’s long history and comprehensive academic programs, emphasizing that the School's efforts in talent cultivation and scientific research align with national strategies and industrial needs, contributing to significant achievements in related sectors. As both institutions are members of the Alliance of Chinese and European Business Schools (ACE), he expressed anticipation for further deepening cooperation with the University of Ljubljana. Dean Tomaž Turk noted that the University of Ljubljana, founded in 1919, is Slovenia’s oldest and largest institution of higher education. The Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Ljubljana shares many similarities with our School in terms of academic structure, research focus, and student composition. He added that both institutions highly prioritize practical applications and international development strategies, and as both are “Triple Crown” accredited business schools, he hopes for in-depth collaboration in areas such as international talent cultivation, scientific research, and digital transformation.

During the exchange, Dr. Zhonghui Ding, a visiting scholar from the University of Ljubljana, along with Wei Wenchao, Director of Academic Affairs in the International Office, and Dr. Ying Wenchi from the Department of Information Management, engaged in detailed discussions on project collaboration, faculty and student exchanges, digital course innovation, and international summer programs.
