On the afternoon of October 29, 2024, the graduation ceremony of the short-term foreign aid training program “Capacity Building Workshop on Privatization of State-owned Enterprises and International Cooperation in Uzbekistan” hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and organized by School of Economics and Management of Beijing Jiaotong University (BJTU) was held in the Science and Technology Building. Liu Xiaofang, vice dean of the School of International Education, Shang Xiaopu, vice dean of the School of Economics and Management, and 17 trainees from Uzbekistan attended the ceremony. The event was hosted by Cao Weibing, director of International Affairs Office of the school of Economics and Management.
Sharapov Umidjon, director of the Uzbek Agency for the Management of State Property, deputy head of the Uzbek seminar, expressed special thanks to the BJTU for its hard work and perfect arrangements for this event. At the same time, he emphasized that privatization of state-owned enterprises is an important part of Uzbekistan's economic reform, which is of great significance for improving economic efficiency and stimulating market vitality. It is hoped that through this workshop, not only can we learn the advanced experience of China, but also build a bridge of cooperation with China and jointly promote the high-quality development of the economies of China and Uzbekistan.
Focusing on the theme of the training, the workshop has arranged a series of colorful activities such as lectures, case studies, visits and cultural experiences. The School of Economics and Management will continue to practice the “Belt and Road” initiative and carry out the spirit of the president Xi Jinping’s reply to the Kenyan students of BJTU, and at the same time, it will also further strengthen the contact and cooperation with the international community, provide more intellectual support and human resources for economic and social development, and jointly promote the prosperity and development of the global economy.
