From September 18 to September 23, 2024, the "2024 International Symposium on Information Management Education and Teaching," hosted by the Department of Information Management at the School of Economics and Management, Beijing Jiaotong University, was successfully held. Nearly a hundred faculty and students from both inside and outside the university attended the symposium.
During the opening ceremony, Vice President Guan Zhongliang delivered a welcome speech on behalf of the university, welcoming guests and scholars. He emphasized that internationalization is a key strategy for the university, highlighting the need to strengthen international cooperation and exchange in the process of academic development, which would enhance both the capabilities and the international reputation of the disciplines. He sincerely wished for the success of the symposium. Dean Shi Xianliang of the School of Economics and Management also welcomed attendees, noting the increased importance of the information management discipline in the era of artificial intelligence and its significant role in the college’s academic development. He stated that the symposium is crucial for exploring international cooperation and industry-education integration, promoting high-quality development in education and teaching. The opening ceremony was hosted by Vice Dean Shang Xiaopu of the School of Economics and Management.
During the forum, experts and scholars, including Professor Gintautas Dzemyda from the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences, Professor Gábor Bohács from Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Professor Mirjana Ivanovic from the University of Novi Sad in Serbia, Professor Shen Ning from the University of the United Arab Emirates, Professor Zhu Jianming from Central University of Finance and Economics, and Dr. Liu Zhongliang, Vice President of Jing Investment Technology Co., Ltd., engaged in in-depth discussions with faculty and students on the theme of "Advancing High-Quality Development in Education and Teaching through International Cooperation and Industry-Education Integration."
The symposium was the second academic construction seminar organized by the Department of Information Management, and the thematic presentations sparked great interest and enthusiastic responses from attendees. It provided new ideas and methods for teachers and students in related fields regarding international cooperation, industry-education integration, interdisciplinary collaboration, and enhancing the quality of talent cultivation.
