The 8th International Advisory Committee Meeting of the School of Economics and Management at Beijing Jiaotong University Successfully Held

On September 16, 2023, the School of Economics and Management at Beijing Jiaotong University held the 8th International Advisory Committee (IAC) meeting. Chinese and foreign experts and scholars gathered in the multi-functional hall of the Hongguoyuan Hotel at Beijing Jiaotong University to discuss "innovation and development of the School of Economics and Management in the era of change." Vice President Gao Yan of Beijing Jiaotong University attended the meeting, and all members of the School of Economics and Management leadership team participated in it.

At the meeting, Vice President Gao Yan of Beijing Jiao Tong University and Secretary Li Tong of the School of Economics and Management issued letters of appointment to the new IAC Chairman, members, and experts, respectively.

Vice President Gao Yan delivered a welcome speech, introducing the school's current development status, disciplinary characteristics, and internationalization process. On behalf of the school, he warmly welcomed the experts attending the meeting. She pointed out that to further improve the school's educational level, learning and drawing on first-class business education and enterprise management experience is essential. He hope that the attending experts can gather consensus through the collision of ideas and provide valuable suggestions for the high-quality international development of the school and the School of Economics and Management.

Dean Shi Xianliang reported on the situation of the college to various experts, elaborating on aspects such as college history, subject and significance, student training, student employment, scientific research, school-enterprise cooperation, teaching staff, international cooperation, and talent policies.

The expert speech and discussion of the International Advisory Committee were chaired by Professor Edwin Cheng, Chairman of the IAC and Dean of the School of Business at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The committee members and experts highly praised the achievements of the school and the college and held heated discussions on the project and curriculum construction, international cooperation and exchange, sustainable development, student social responsibility cultivation, scientific research, digital development, and school-enterprise collaboration of the School of Economics and Management during the transformation period, and put forward valuable suggestions.
