The curriculum theme of this summer school focuses on logistics, informatization, management, and service science. Distinguished lecturers, including Professor Shen Zuojun, Vice President of the University of Hong Kong in Canada, Professor Francisco Saldanha da Gama of the University of Sheffield in the UK, Professor Martin Dresner of the University of Maryland in the United States, Professor Vicenc Fernandez of the Catalonia Polytechnic University in Spain, Professor Eva Gallardo Gallardo, Professor Muhammet Deveci of the National Defense University of Türkiye, Ge Fei, Vice President of Shenzhen International Group, and He Jinyou, Chief Engineer of Huawei, provided insightful lectures to the summer school students.

To offer students a more hands-on experience of corporate practices, the summer school meticulously arranged on-site visits to the Shenzhen International Pingnan Comprehensive Logistics Hub project, tours of the Research and Design Institute of China Railway Academy (Shenzhen), and exploration of the terminal exhibition hall in Zone G of Huawei Bantian Base.

It is noteworthy that seven teachers and students, led by President Ma Donghui, Teacher Zhang Yunxiang, and Meng Lingqing, from Sunshine Yanshan School in Zunhua City, a student base of Beijing Jiaotong University, actively participated in various activities throughout the entire duration of the summer school. Sunshine Yanshan School not only contributes high-quality student resources to our institution but also utilizes the establishment of the Beijing Jiaotong University Student Source Base as an opportunity to foster year-round dynamic exchanges with the International Research Center for Information Management Theory and Technology (ICIR) of Beijing Jiaotong University. This collaborative effort between Sunshine Yanshan School, universities, and research bases is geared towards supporting the development of future student resources, enhancing levels of talent cultivation, and fostering a mutually beneficial situation for the national education industry.

The Summer School of the China Europe Logistics, Information Technology, Management, and Service Science Doctoral School not only offers a cross-border academic exchange platform for domestic students but also provides an opportunity for international students to gain insights into Chinese culture and academic advancements. Looking ahead, the 9th China Europe Sustainable Engineering PhD Summer School is scheduled to take place in July 2024 at the University of Cairo, Egypt.
