The 7th International Advisory Committee Meeting of the School of Economics and Management at Beijing Jiaotong University Successfully Held

The theme of this session was "Opportunities, Challenges, and Strategies for the Development of the School of Economics and Management in the New Era".

The meeting was chaired by Professor Edwin Cheng, Chairman of the IAC and Dean of the School of Business at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Director Xia Mingchao of the International Exchange Office and members of the leadership team of the School of Economics and Management from Beijing Jiaotong University attended the meeting.

Wang Jiaqiong, President of Beijing Jiaotong University, attended the meeting and delivered a welcoming speech. President Wang introduced the current development status and disciplinary characteristics of the school, as well as the industry characteristics and advantages of the School of Economics and Management. On behalf of the school, he warmly welcomed the attending experts and hoped that they could engage in a collision of ideas and jointly provide valuable suggestions for the high-quality international development of the school and the School of Economics and Management.

Shi Xianliang, Dean of the School of Economics and Management at Beijing Jiaotong University, gave a report on the situation of the college to various experts, elaborating on aspects such as the history of the college, disciplines and majors, student training, scientific research, teaching staff, international cooperation, and talent policies.

Subsequently, members and experts of the International Advisory Committee discussed and exchanged ideas on the opportunities, challenges, and strategies for the development of the School of Economics and Management in the new era. Everyone highly praised the achievements of the school and college, and put forward valuable suggestions for the re certification of international certification, the construction of industry characteristic management colleges, international exchange and talent cultivation, the construction of industry, university, and research institutes, and the cultivation of students' sense of social responsibility, as well as interdisciplinary research on digital technology.

Considering the pandemic and global time difference, this session adopted video suggestions, communication suggestions, and other methods, including real-time online meetings.
