School of Economics and Management Hosts Successful Career Sharing Webinar with Alumnus Cai Yonghua

In an effort to enhance the connection between alumni and the institution, the School of Economics and Management, leveraging its distinguished disciplines, organized a series of career sharing sessions with the support of alumni associations across finance, accounting, logistics, and MBA sectors.

The latest installment, held on June 12, 2022, was a virtual event titled the Career Sharing Meeting - Juzhi Industrial Management Alumni Exchange. Hosted by Professor Liang Huakang from the Department of Industry Management, the webinar welcomed alumnus Cai Yonghua, a 1996 graduate in engineering management and current head of the consulting department at Beijing Shuangyuan Engineering Consulting and Supervision Co., Ltd.

 

Alumnus Cai offered insights into the engineering consulting industry, covering its current state, policy implications, statistical data, and industry standards. He discussed in detail the industry's development trends, including the shift to diversified consulting services, movement from low to high-value offerings, the adoption of modern technologies such as BIM and AI, and the importance of cultivating professional quality and international perspectives among employees.

 

Cai further delved into the nuances of bidding agency services, cost consulting, and supervisory work, sharing innovative developments within these areas in Beijing. Drawing from his extensive experience, he provided students with practical advice on personal development, information sourcing, and internship opportunities, encouraging them to grow and excel professionally.

 

The session concluded with an interactive Q&A segment where Cai addressed students' queries about employment prospects in the consulting industry and the intricacies of full-process cost consulting.

 

The Career Sharing Meeting was attended by over 60 participants, including faculty from the Industrial Management Department, employment guidance counselors, alumni coordinators, and students. This event provided attendees with valuable knowledge of the engineering consulting sector, aiding in their career planning and practical skill enhancement. The School of Economics and Management plans to continue this series, offering more professional career insights in the future.
