Smart Transportation and Logistics MBA Integration Practice Project Concludes with Successful Report Meeting at Beijing Jiaotong University

On April 9, 2022, the School of Economics and Management at Beijing Jiaotong University marked a significant milestone with the successful closing report and review meeting of its Smart Transportation and Logistics MBA Integration Practice Project. This event, hosted at the Beijing Freight Center of the Beijing Railway Bureau, showcased the culmination of six months of diligent work by the 2020 cohort of MBA students in Smart Transportation and Logistics, divided into four groups.

The meeting, featuring both online and offline participation, was presided over by Professor Zhou Jianqin and attended by notable figures such as Professor Qiu Xiaodong, Vice Dean of the School of Economics and Management, Professor Zhang Lei from the Professional Degree Education and Teaching Sharing Center, and managers Yan Chenyang and Liu Jiaqi from the Huangcun Business Department of the Beijing Freight Center.

 

In his address, Vice Dean Qiu Xiaodong expressed heartfelt gratitude to the cooperative enterprises for providing practical training opportunities and emphasized the college's commitment to integrating education with industry to enrich and innovate professional degree graduate student training. He lauded Professor Zhou Jianqin's invaluable contributions to the project and set high expectations for the MBA students in the field of smart transportation and logistics.

Professor Zhou Jianqin, offering insights as the project guidance teacher, acknowledged the support of the Huangcun Freight Yard of the Beijing Railway Bureau's Beijing Freight Center and outlined the project's design, research process, and overall progress.

 

Manager Yan Chenyang welcomed the collaboration, underscoring the enterprise's eagerness to apply academic expertise to practical challenges and achieve a synergistic school-enterprise partnership.

 

In the reporting segment, the four groups presented their research solutions, addressing specific practical problems of their target enterprises. They applied theoretical knowledge and tools in areas like data modeling, supply chain management, and strategic marketing to analyze issues and propose solutions, covering topics like transportation efficiency, logistics supervision, customer research, and emergency management.

 

The reports were critically evaluated by enterprise leaders and teachers for practicality, execution, and application value. Following in-depth discussions and interactions, one group was selected for the Best Report Award for the Annual Integration Practice Project.

 

This integrated practice project, a core component of the MBA program, leverages the century-old educational legacy, multicultural environment, and international character of the School of Economics and Management. It aims to develop high-level professionals with global perspectives and sharp business acumen through real-life projects and school-enterprise cooperation. This approach not only enhances the students' ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical business problems but also nurtures their capacity for systematic, logical problem-solving, embodying the school's philosophy of "unity of knowledge and action" and contributing to the development of elite business talents.
