The "Highly Cited Chinese Researchers" list is based on data from the Scopus database and employs a methodology developed by Shanghai Soft Science Education Information Consulting Co., Ltd. This list, first released in 2015 and now in its eighth year, has gained considerable attention both domestically and internationally. The selection process uses an optimized and updated classification mapping of disciplines by Elsevier, aligning with the Ministry of Education’s system and covering 111 disciplines. This method provides a more intuitive representation of Chinese scholars' subject attributions and performances, effectively highlighting their scientific research outputs and bringing to light those excelling in specialized fields.
