School of Economics and Management of Beijing Jiaotong University Earns AACSB International Accreditation

On July 28, 2021, Beijing Jiaotong University receives an official notification from the AACSB International (AACSB) that its School of Economics and Management has earned the AACSB international accreditation for a period of 5 years, making it the 17th business school in mainland China to receive both EQUIS and AACSB international accreditation.

The School’s Eligibility Application of AACSB was approved in March 2016.In December 2017, the school submitted iSER report and got approved. In December 2018, the first iSER Update report was passed and the School entered in the peer review visit stage. From April 27 to 30, 2021, the School received an online visiting and be highly evaluated by the peer review team. Being accredited signifies that the School has reached the international first-class level in education, scientific research and social service.

On February 24, 2021, the School received EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System) initial accreditation. Being accredited by AACSB makes the School the first business school in mainland China to receive both EQUIS and AACSB initial accreditation in the same year. It will also be an important milestone in the international development of the school.

The adoption of the two international accreditations will be an important driving force for the School to maintain high quality development. In the next five years, the faculty and students of the School will take the opportunity of the implementation of the "14th Five-year plan" and the re-accreditation of the two international accreditations to unite and make continuous improvement, and devote efforts to build the School into a business school guiding industrial development of China.

AACSB International

The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) was founded in 1916. It is a non-profit organization composed of business schools, societies and other institutions. It is jointly sponsored by the business schools of 16 well-known universities, including Columbia University, Harvard University, New York University, Northwestern University, University of California, Berkeley, University of Chicago, University of Pennsylvania, Yale University, etc. AACSB international Accreditation is considered as the oldest and most valuable accreditation for business schools in the international business education accreditation system. Only 5% of business schools in the world have obtained this accreditation, which is an important symbol of business education and talent cultivation reaching the international level. By now 910 institutions in 58 countries and regions have received AACSB business accreditation.
