On February 24, 2021, the School of Economics and Management (SEM) of Beijing Jiaotong University (BJTU) attained the EQUIS Accreditation according to the official notice from the EQUIS Accreditation Office of the EFMD (European Foundation for Management Development). This is a major breakthrough achieved by the School in international accreditation, and it indicates that the school has reached an internationally recognition of excellence.

SEM officially entered the EQUIS accreditation process in March 2018. In 2020, even though all faculty members and students of the School faced the challenges of the pandemic, we insisted on advancing the EQUIS accreditation progress, submitted the self-assessment report on time, and welcomed the EQUIS accreditation online peer review visit from December 8th to 11th. Through 18 meetings including schoolexecutive committee, external governance, programme portfolio, selected degree programme, faculty management, administrative support services, research, financial management, faculty members, students, alumni, connection with practice, and feedback, as well ascomprehensive review of supporting documents, the peer review team spoke highly of the SEM’s accomplishment and put forward constructive feedback and suggestions.

The EQUIS accreditation will make a positive impact on the School's development for pursuing excellence in the future, and it will be of great significance for the School to comprehensively improve the internationalisation of teaching, scientific research and social services, and to accelerate its fulfillment as a business school that leads the development of China's industry.
