On October 30, 2013, Ms. Jody Lehr, vice director of International Division of Admissions Office of Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) visited our school. Zhang Li, deputy president of our school, and Lu Xiyan, director of International Exchange Center, had a talk with Ms. Jody Lehrand expressed the warm welcome to Ms. Jody Lehr, conducting the profound exchange and discussion over the problems related to the joint cultivation of the undergraduates.
Ms. Jody Lehr, later, gave a lecture to the undergraduates of our school, introducing the relevant situations about Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and also carefully explained the Undergraduate 2+2 Joint Cultivation Program and Recommended Undergraduate Master Program, which was warmly accepted by the students of our school. Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) highly advocates such a philosophy that students are supposed to devote themselves to the academic pursuit but at the same time should be positively involved with sports and other amusement activities so as to promote the overall development of the students and help the students actively distinguish themselves with better performance in all aspects. RIT has 170-odd student societies and organizations, which can afford a large variety of student activities, say, the winter sports competitions involving Skating, Skiing, Ice Hockey, etc., and spring sports events like rugby football and basketball competitions.
Undergraduate 2+2 Joint Cultivation Program and Recommended Undergraduate Master Program will provide the students in our school with the better choice of such specialties as Accounting, Economics, Management, Information Management and Marketing, etc. In addition, RIT will offer more opportunities to our students to engage in all kinds of scientific research and development projects, co-op program and some other part-time jobs to obtain the practical knowledge and skills. The enterprises offering chances to students for social practice are involved in many sectors, particularly including the fledgling innovative small firms and larger Fortune 500 companies.
RIT, founded in 1829, now has 8 colleges with 15000 undergraduates and 3000 postgraduates, particularly 2100 international students coming from more than 100 countries and regions in the world.
